Archeology of the Soul by Nancy Turner, Ginger Owen-Murakami, and Vicki VanAmeyden Turner’s work mediates between past, present and future and is informed by the power of a fragment to suggest an entire story: the mysterious way objects retain remembrance and our collective somewhat fictional relationship to our shared cultural history. Roots, Heartwood, and Grove, are sculptural and experiential installations by Owen-Murakami and VanAmeyden. By exploring collective memories with vernacular photography, the work of these collaborative artists emphasizes cultural commonalities that bind people, and serve as an expression of humanism.
