On May 25, 2018, the Greater Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect for all businesses which operate within the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or have customers or audiences living in the EU or EEA. This also extends to all US-based businesses which have websites or smart phone apps that collect visitor or customer information such as name, email, phone and other personal data. It also applies to those websites which don’t have contact forms but do use Google Analytics or some other tracking software to track where you visitors come from. Basically, if you have an online presence, whether or not you sell online, you need to have a Privacy Statement which complies with the GDPR. We will review what is required to be included in the Privacy Policy statement and what you need to do to become compliant. Coffee and breakfast rolls provided.
