The Yavapai Reentry Project and Southwest Fair Housing Council presents Free Online Housing Webinar Series – know your housing rights Speakers: Cheri Horbacz Director of Education & Outreach Certified Statewide ADRE Instructor and Savannah Sayers Education and Outreach Specialist with Southwest Fair Housing Council (SWFHC). SWFHC seeks to provide comprehensive services to achieve and preserve equal access to housing for all people. Through their research, advocacy, enforcement, community outreach, passionate staff and diverse board, they help more people achieve equal access to housing and are recognized as one of the superior fair housing organizations in the nation. Session 1: Covid and Fair Housing Tuesday, May 19, 2020 | 9:00 am – 10:30 am This training will give an overview regarding fair housing laws in the U.S. Attendees will better understand the Federal and State of Arizona and Local Fair Housing Laws. Also, learn the effects of COVID-19 on housing rights. Session 2: Know the Rules: HUD Guidance, Animals and Fair Housing Tuesday, May 19, 2020 | 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm This training will cover the new guidance put out in January 2020, by HUD regarding animals and housing. Session 3: Know the Rules: HUD Guidance, Reentry and Housing Wednesday, May 20, 2020 | 9:00 am – 10:30 am Learn about the 2016 HUD guidelines regarding those with criminal backgrounds both as a provider and as someone with a criminal background in need of housing. Question and answer periods will follow each presentation.
