Fred Harvey was an entrepreneur who saw a need for better eating facilities for railroad travelers. As the railroad moved west, he created hotels with restaurants along the rail routes AND established farms to provide fresh meat and produce to those facilities and railway dining cars. One such farm was at Del Rio Springs in Chino Valley. For nearly 50 years, it supplied all of the western division dining cars and Harvey House restaurants. Join Kay Lauster for this unique presentation at the Sharlot Hall Museum. The lecture will be held in the Museum’s Education Center. Admission is free, but tickets are required, so call (928) 445-3122 ext. 0 to reserve a seat.
