When Helping Hurts Compassion, Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma
Providing home and family to children healing from deep pain and suffering requires compassion, empathy, and caring. This emotional and caring connection we establish with our foster and adopted children can make us vulnerable to feeling distress within ourselves. Join local expert and dynamic speaker Stacey Gagnon, R.N., as she helps participants identify their stress levels and areas of emotional anxiety. This class will also help foster and adopt parents through the steps of building a self-care plan and identifying circles of support, in order to prevent burnout. Trauma Lens Care is a project of MATFORCE in collaboration with Yavapai County Health Services. #MaskUpAZ My mask protects you and your mask protects me.
