Outdoor winter gardening is one of the gifts that many Arizonans can enjoy! * Learn about growing greens and vegetables during the cooler winter months. * Discuss topics such as plant selection, location, and tools and resources for protection from the elements. * Learn methods for improving and protecting your soil, since winter is the time to plan, prep and prune for the next season. * Discuss growing micro greens indoors so that you can enjoy fresh greens all winter long, and starting new plants for spring. Presented by Kathy Watts: Kathy has lived and worked in the Verde Valley for over thirty years. Her professional background is rooted primarily in hospitality and the food and beverage industry. As food has ALWAYS been her favorite thing, gardening naturally became a serious interest when Kathy retired from the restaurant business about five years ago. She has grown food in a variety of ways (indoors, grow bags, unconventional containers, sub-irrigated planters, raised beds and of course traditional in-ground gardens). All have their challenges, which makes gardening all-the-more interesting. She recently completed the Yavapai County Master Gardener training program and hopes to help you to achieve your gardening goals. Zoom Meeting Link: https://arizona.zoom.us/j/83555022646
