Prescott Valley Public Library – New Event – (Mother) Road to the Stars: Route 66 and its Space Heritage, No Registration Required – In Person Program
Join us at Prescott Valley Public Library on April 2, 2026 from 4-5:15PM for an Az Speaks program, (Mother) Road to the Stars: Route 66 and Its Space Heritage, a unique journey down Route 66, not for the diners and neon signs, but for its surprising cosmic history. Along this iconic highway lie the birthplaces of space pioneers, key centers of exploration, astronaut training sites, the world’s best-preserved meteor crater, a famed UFO sighting, and museums celebrating our connection to the stars. In honor of Route 66’s upcoming centennial, Lowell Observatory Historian Kevin Schindler will guide a virtual trip along the Mother Road to uncover the fascinating space heritage woven into its mile markers. Thursday, April 2, 2026 Time: 4-5:15PM Crystal Room, Third Floor No registration required. More Info? 928.759.3040
