Hello!
MycoEarth's work sits at the intersection of two things most people don't realize are connected: saving water in soil, and possibly the farm by restoring the microbes in the soil responsible for it! MycoEarth deploys native fungi/mushrooms into the soil, as they are catalysts that bring the microbiome together. Before 1947, agricultural chemical companies did not exist, and the soil held 251% more water, yielded more, pest pressure was irregular, and plant diseases were few. This is because the microbes in the soil (8 billion per teaspoon - same as the number of people on Earth - when they are present) were doing their jobs. All agricultural chemicals are antimicrobial - they kill the workers who ensure farm success.
Many farmers believe that they should purchase chemicals for national security reasons. This makes a bit of sense when you realize that the same chemicals in fertilizer and herbicides make bombs for national defense. However, it does not make sense to put these same Boom! and chemical warfare ingredients into the soil that grows our food. These are two very separate issues. I say, let the government do what they are going to do, and let farms get back to higher yields, water reduction by 40%, reduce pest and disease pressure, and save the budget from chemical availability and costs that are at the mercy of the global political environment.
MycoEarth puts soil back together faster than typical farm/soil regenerative practices because there is no waiting until the microbes return on their own. We inoculate the soil. The breakeven point usually lands a
Hello! MycoEarth deploys native fungi into soil as catalysts that restore the microbiome. Before 1947, agricultural chemicals didn't exist — soil held 251% more water, yielded more, and diseases were rare. Why? Because 8 billion microbes per teaspoon (equal to Earth's population) were doing their jobs. All agricultural chemicals are antimicrobial, killing the very workers who ensure farm success.
MycoEarth rebuilds soil faster because we inoculate directly — no waiting for microbes to return on their own. Breakeven hits at 19 months, then savings compound with commas and zeros.
